The most revered and renowned Marian Pilgrim Centre after Velankanni, is the Holy Shrine of Koratty Muthy otherwise known as Koratty Thampuratty. All through the year, especially during the feast days, devotees of all castes and creeds, from far and wide, throng to this place to pay their respect to Koratty Muthy (Mother Mary) and pray for blessings.
Established on September 8, 1381. Church has existed during the period when Sakthan Thampuran (1775-1790). It is believed that the church which is an epitome of an ancient era, dating back to the 14th Century, was established on September 8, 1381
അഭിനവ ലൂര്‍ദ് എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധമായ കൊരട്ടി ഫൊറോന പള്ളി ജാതിമതഭേദമന്യേ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് വിശ്വാസികളെത്തുന്ന തീര്‍ഥാടനകേന്ദ്രമാണ്. നിറമിഴികളുമായി എത്തുന്നവരെ പ്രത്യാശയും സന്തോഷവും നല്‍കി കൊരട്ടി മുത്തി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. ചരിത്രവും വിശ്വാസവും ഇഴചേര്‍ന്ന പള്ളി എഡി 1381 -ലാണ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. ചരിത്രവും ഐതിഹ്യവും കെട്ടുപിണഞ്ഞ് കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരുപിടി കഥകള്‍ കൊരട്ടി മുത്തിയുടെ ദേവാലയത്തിനുണ്ട്.
